Sara St. Denis

Program Manager at Rincon Research 

Sara St. Denis is a native of Coventry, Connecticut. She joined the Army Reserve in 1999 after graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in communication. Sara’s military training took her to Fort Huachuca, Arizona for six months. As a Counterintelligence Agent for the Reserve, she deployed to Kosovo with 10th Mountain Division in 2001/02 and Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003/04. In 2005, Sara graduated from the University of Arizona with a master’s in communication. She worked as a contractor out of Ft. Huachuca for a year on a mobile training team, training U.S. Army Intelligence soldiers for deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan before joining the Central Intelligence Agency to be a Case Officer.


As an Agency Officer, Sara served in Africa and South Asia where she planned and participated in intelligence, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and other types of operations in support of U.S. security issues. After 7 years with the Agency, she moved back to Tucson and started working at Raytheon Missile Systems. Sara started her career at Raytheon in Security; Counterintelligence and International Security, before becoming a project, then program manager for a non-kinetic research and
development program. She left Raytheon after 9 years and is now a program manager at Rincon Research.


Sara published her memoirs from her deployment to Iraq in September 2023; “The Army You Have: Operation Iraqi Freedom, a Military Intelligence Soldier’s Perspective” with Tucson-based Wheatmark publishers.
