Christine Wells

Ph.D, M.B.A

Christine Wells is a clinical psychologist with over 30 years’ experience in the health care sector, holding executive leadership positions in clinical and operational management in community-based provider organizations  in New York, Arizona and New Mexico. 

As a non-profit executive, Dr. Wells was the principal for a team that developed the first facility licensed in Arizona to offer integrated primary and behavioral health care and wellness services exclusively to individuals living with serious mental illness. In her role as a regional executive director with a managed behavioral health organization, she had responsibility for the management of comprehensive behavioral health services for a commercial health plan. Dr. Wells served as interim executive director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southern Arizona in 2019.

Since 2017, Dr. Wells has been a consultant to health plans in the development of state Medicaid program business proposals and with non-profit behavioral health organizations focused on implementation of integrated care processes, facility licensing, process improvement, medical record auditing, and strategic planning. 

Dr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Mount Holyoke College. She earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Clark University along with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.  In her early years, Dr. Wells lived in Oulu, Finland and studied in England. She and her husband, also a psychologist, currently divide their time between Tucson, AZ and Lunenberg, Nova Scotia. ​
